How to work with fractured teams?

Sometimes in teams communication has broken down to a point, where people display negative behaviour. This could be directly avoiding people, actively spreading rumours, aggressive remarks or even sabotaging someone else’s efforts. Teams with these established patterns of behaviour not likely to be functioning at their peak, and are doing harm to the psychological well being of themselves and others.

As a starting point in working with teams in this situation, I use a no-blame ‘Group Norming’ process, that involves all members of the team including the leader in many instances.
